Fight Fibromyalgia With A Total Lifestyle Change! It really is that easy!!

Two Years ago, it was hard for me to get out of bed every morning! The thought of exercising, doing lunges, and even lifting any sort of weights scared me to death. Walking was about the only thing I could tolerate! In 2011 I was diagnosed for a second time with Fibromyalgia! I went through the medications, the shots, the therapy, you name it and nothing seemed to help. Then one day I said enough and decided it was time for a lifestyle change.

I began exercising following a guided program, eating clean and healthy following specific meal plans, I was feeling better and a bit stronger but I still had a substantial amount of flare ups!! After 1 month I began drinking Shakeology and really started to feel the difference. After 60 days of drinking this amazing super food I went to my doctor and told her how amazing I felt.  Full blood work panel was done and there was no sign of any autoimmune disease! In fact my results were beyond fantastic!!!

I do not say I cured Fibromyalgia, nooo!!! Not at all!!! However I do believe that our life style, environment, and our eating habits play a vital role in how we feel and why this disease is so complicated!!! We have to take responsibility for what we put into and on our body and stop looking for quick fixes!!

Fibromyalgia is a medical condition characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, tender joints and chronic fatigue. Fibromyalgia can be mild or severe, sporadic or chronic and has no known cure. Medications are available to reduce the pain of Fibromyalgia, but do not eliminate the pain completely. In addition, these medications often have side effects. One particular side effect being the havoc they wreak on the intestinal tract, causing an overgrowth of Candida which may lead to “leaky gut syndrome.” Not only did I have Leaky Gut, but a host of gastrological issues!! Doctors don’t know what causes fibromyalgia, but it most likely involves a variety of factors working together.

Lifestyle changes are the key when living with Fibromyalgia in order to identify triggers and control or dissipate the symptoms. Those living with the most chronic and debilitating type of Fibromyalgia can almost always alleviate the two most severe symptoms – chronic pain and fatigue – by adopting lifestyle changes with or without the use of medication.   Nutrition, sleep, exercise, and stress management can make a huge impact on pain management and quality of life.


Nutrition is one of the most  important in obtaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle. For those who live with Fibromyalgia, a healthy diet is vital. Nutrition is more than just eating your fruits and veggies. Nutrition also refers to the avoidance of highly-processed foods. Unfortunately Scientific research is limited on the relationship between nutrition/diet and Fibromyalgia; many cases show that people experience a decrease in symptoms when highly processed food, caffeine, alcohol, red meat, refined sugar and fried food are removed from their diet. This is how I have conquered it!

Several foods should be avoided when trying to reduce Fibromyalgia symptoms and these are based on my own experience, but the research is out there to validate. These food categories include:

  • High fat dairy food
  • Refined (white) sugars
  • White flour
  • Fried foods
  • Preservatives and additives
  • High-fructose corn syrup
  • Junk food High salt foods
  • Red meat Meats preserved by being smoked cured or nitrate cured, such as lunch meats
  • Coffee and caffeine
  • Sodas and carbonated beverages
  • Aspartame and all other artificial sweeteners
  • MSG (monosodium glutamate)

Fitness is another key component to reducing the symptoms of Fibromyalgia! No it is not easy at first but eventually over time you get stronger, the pain goes away, and it does get easier. Stretching, yoga, and Myofacial release are all important routines to incorporate into any Fitness program for someone suffering with Fibromyalgia!

Exercise helps break the chronic pain cycle of FIbromyalgia.  When I don’t exercise even something as simple as walking I have Fibro Flare ups.  Getting that oxygen to my muscles, tendons, and brain always helps with my symptoms.

You can’t just jump into something so do your research, higher a good quality personal trainers, and most important talk to your medical team.

A Toxic Environment is another avenue that is so important to focus on when you have Fibromyalgia!! This is important one that gets over looked often so please don’t dismiss this!! There is so much information out there so please do your own research. I can only share what I know and what I have experienced on my wellness journey!!

According to the National Institute of Occupation Safety and Health.  There are 2983 ingredients in our cleaning products at home.

  • 884 are toxic ingredients
  • 314 cause biological mutations
  • 218 cause reproductive problems
  • 778 are toxic to the human body
  • 146 are known to cause cancerous tumors but still allowed in the US even though they are banned in other countries
  • 376 cause eye and skin irritation

 26 seconds after exposure, chemicals are found in measurable amounts in the human body

The top 10 most dangerous chemicals in our home are in:

  • Air Fresheners, Candles, Laundry Soap/Fabric Softener/Dryer Sheets
    • All-Purpose Cleaner/Furniture Polishes/Window Cleaners
    • Shower/Tub/Sink/Toilet Cleaners
    • Bleach/Dish Soap/Dish Washer Detergent
    • Drain and Oven Cleaners

What Happens When Your Body Is Chemically Overloaded?

You may see something as catastrophic as cancer, but most of us feel it in a different way like:

  • Lethargy and inability to focus/Headaches/Respiratory conditions

Celebrating World Down syndrome Day our Journey!

Today around the world many are celebrating World Down syndrome day!!
It’s a chance to celebrate the families around the world that love and are touched by Down Syndrome in their lives!

I want to share today a little bit of our journey with Down syndrome!!

15 years ago I was found out my son was going to be born with Down syndrome! I was 26 weeks along in my pregnancy! A pregnancy that wan’t suppose to happen! I was in the middle of a divorce and when I found out he had Down syndrome I was also told he may not survive the next 24 hours. They asked me if I wanted to abort my son! It left in tears I was heart broken, I was devastated that they would even ask me that.

I knew very little about Trisomy 21 other wise known as Down syndrome!! I didn’t know what our future held for us, and I didn’t know how I was going to do it alone!! I just new that this was a gift from god and our adventures began!!

Today my son is 15 and every day I feel blessed to be his mom!! 

He will make you laugh, he will bring the kid in you out! He has a huge heart and loves everyone!!
Is it easy?  Hell no it is not easy!
My son also has Autism! He is has very limited speech, he has moderate to severe hearing loss, and some other health issues!!  These don’t make is hard!  What makes it hard though are not his abilities or lack of it is the road blocks that society places in his way!!

Road blocks to quality medical without having to go thousands of miles, road blocks to go to school with peers that are typical, road blocks with day cares and after school programs so the parents can work outside the home, road blocks on a system that is not up to par!!

This is why we celebrate World Down syndrome Day!

It raises the awareness! It raises funding for further research! It brings people and communities together to celebrate these angels! Because honestly that is what they are! You will never meet anyone else so inocent as a person with Down syndrome! They don’t know hate! It is not in them to see the ugliness of the world! They only see the good!!

Every day as Christopher’s Mom I do everything I can to give him a life worth living! This is why I do what I do! Many of our families suffer either from health or poverty and there is no reason for it!!

So Why 21 March?

The date for WDSD being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.

These people, these children deserve to be respected and treated just like everyone else and unfortunately that is not the situation!! Because they learn and act a little different, maybe it is they don’t talk well or not at all; what ever it is there is still so much seclusion happening!! I see it every day with my son!!

He will walk in a room and light it up with his smile!! His laughter will be so hard it rattles the walls!! Small accomplishments bring great pride!! 

He loves Music and movies! He loves to go camping!! He is a great swimmer and loves to be on the boat!!! He is just like you and me but with an extra special twist!

Stop Being Boring and Create Curiosity!!! 

Yes, I said!!!
Every day content, the same old thing day in and day out is boring!! Create a sense of mystery or curiosity with your viewers! Add some excitement, and a sense of urgency and Viola!
IF you can do that YOU have mastered Curiosity  Marketing!!
You will be the talk on the net!!!  People will be messaging you asking you
” What do you do? What is that you have? Tell me more about your product ? ” 

Many marketers even the seasoned ones still make mistakes! One of the biggest ones ( Ya I am guilty as well) is…

They are constantly sharing their company’s name, showing images of products etc.   Don’t be that person!!
This is not a late night infomercial!!  Besides once they know it, all they have to do is google it; and you never know someone else might get the sale!

So let’s think about this!! How do we do this!!!

One of my mentors explained it as a Movie Preview!  Little snippets of the goodness just to get them thinking!!

Here is how it works. Think of the preview of a movie you like. What are the producers giving you in those few minutes, and what are they keeping a secret? They give you bits of information in order to pique your curiosity, and excite you to go see the movie. But they keep the ending to themselves.

Think of your social media marketing strategy as a movie franchise. If you tell your prospects what product you’re using or what company you’re with, you’re giving up the end of the movie. And that just not clever marketing!

So the next time you are thinking about sharing something about your product or company, keep this in mind!!

Being strategic with your content is not something that is optional!! It is something that every online marketer needs to do!!
Type with Purpose!! 

It doesn’t matter what you are sharing, a quote, a photo of your mom, your kids messes – there should always be a purpose behind why you are sharing it!!

Your creativity will start pouring in when you start forming this as a habit!!!  Get out a note pad and start a running list of why, why do they need to hear what you are going to write!!

1. Written Content!! 

So how do we do this!! Oh let me count the ways!!!
Do you know what is the biggest thing that draws people’s attention and gets their curiosity in an uproar??? Lack of INFORMATION!!   YES!!!

You mindset should be this: if people want to know what your product or business is, they need to talk to you!

For example, you can make a post about taking a family vacation, or being home with the kids and without sounding to snooty show gratitude of how thankful you are that you have the opportunity  to be home with your kids, or take that vacation!! If it is the product then talk about why it is so important to you!! How does it make you feel? How has it changed your life?? All without saying what it is!!

More Ideas:

  • Photo (photos) from your company event without logos and branding in the background

  • You getting recognized

  • Shoutouts  of your teammates or customers

  • Picture of you with leaders in your company

2: Story Telling 

Who does’t love a good story!! You will find plenty of them on Social Media that is for sure!!
But Learning how to tell stories  to grow your business is a bit different, and it is a learning process!! Practice takes time!!  People love to hear about other peoples success!!   It doesn’t have to be super personal, or some life altering story, but enough to start building relationships to get me to know, like and Trust you!!!

Example, sharing about you hobbies and how you got started with them! Story about how you came to your business!! Stories from a vacation!! I just recently shared one about a skiing accident that I was in, how I felt like I was given a second chance in life!!

Share customer stories of how they are loving the products and why!!!

3: Educate 

Social Learning marketing is the hottest thing right now! If you bring genuine and authentic value to your audience!!  They will begin to trust you and your knowledge and that is exactly what you want!!

You can make a video where you share some of your best tips! Cook something live!!! Share an amazing healthy recipe!!  When sharing keep it as generic as possible till the end and then share about what you have done or tired, or use and THEN use a call to action!!

4: Once a Week let your products shine!! 

Only Once a Week!! Remember what I said above! You are not a late night informercial!  Show up and  amazing your followers with a direct promotion of your product or business.

Remember:  Don’t disclose the name or your product or the company!!  I was once explained it like this!! Every company especially if they have been around for a long time, will have some sour pout post a negative review!! Can’t please everyone right??
Well unfortunately these always show up at the top of Brother Googles searches everytime!! So if they know what it is then can very well just go google it!! You don’t want them doing that!!

Once you get them in a private conversation then ya, lay out for them! Tell them the company or products and share all that amazing stuff you have to offer!!

Remember if you are with an MLM, and they know which one, they very well could google someone else in the business and you could be loosing out on a potential team member and customer!!

Here is a great example!! I was watching a live video the other day of an un-boxing a friend was doing!! She never shared what the name of the company was, or exactly what the product was just what it does!! She got my curiosity building so I reached out to her! Come to find out it is the same stuff that another friend is selling and I have never bought from her, I did by from the live video I watched! She made it look amazing!!!!

A great example of a post that a lot of people in our team do is: a picture of the product (not disclosing the name) and a catchy caption like “ Who needs coffee when you have this amazing Shake” or ” Swim Suit Season bring it on! Bye Bye Belly Fat” 

Such posts are so simple but they work incredibly well! Inspire people! Once you do, everything else becomes so much easier!

If you don’t see instant results, the solution is clear: consistency! Nothing great is going to happen for you just within a couple of minutes. Success takes a hot second to create!
