For a brief moment yesterday I had considered going back into the corporate world.ย ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
It was a very brief moment!ย โ˜๏ธ
Something was dangled in front of me and for a moment my mind wandered.
But then…..
.
.
.
๐Ÿ—ฏ๏ธI asked myself was I willing to give up my time freedom?
๐Ÿ’ธWas I willing to fork over a lot of money for help with my son?
โ˜น๏ธWas I willing to give up doing what I love to do?
๐Ÿ™„Was I willing to line the pockets of someone else instead of me?

๐Ÿ™ŒAt the age of 53 I wish I understood what all this represented years ago!

๐Ÿ˜ฎMaybe I wouldn’t have spent 8 years driving 60 miles a day, paying over $100 a week for day care, just to break even every month after bills.

๐Ÿ˜ทMaybe I wouldn’t have been so stressed out to have made myself physically sick and become obese!

๐Ÿ˜ญMaybe I would have been able to be there more for my kids when they needed me!

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณMaybe I wouldn’t have spent many years waiting tables and working double shifts just to make ends meet while at the same time missing out on some precious mommy moments.

๐Ÿ‘€Looking back though I can say I am grateful for the opportunities! I grew as an individual with each experience, and discovered some new passions!
I was able to help a lot of people something I am passionate about doing!

๐Ÿค”However, I honestly don’t know how I did it. For 8 years, The 60 miles a day commute alone sucked! I was in my car more hours in a day than I was at home!

โœจNow my days are not dictated by a time clock or supervisor! They are
– On My terms
– I drive when I want to
– I have time now to take care of me
– I am healthier
– I am still helping others
– I am always available for my kids now
– I no longer break even in the bank every monthโฌ†๏ธ
– I get to enjoy being me

No I am not retired!
๐Ÿ’ƒI chose to live a life that that I design!!

Are you doing everything you can to fight Osteoporosis??

Are you doing everything you can to prevent Osteoporosis??๐Ÿ™„

This is an “OMG I can’t believe I did that” look! AND a “thank God it’s done” look! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ It was a hard workout!

๐Ÿง˜Exercise is just ONE aspect of a wellness journey, but one this 53 year old is not quitting even though it kicks my arse sometimes! ๐Ÿฅต

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸซThere were many reasons I started my wellness journey back in 2015 one of them was preventing Osteoporosis.

๐Ÿ‘ตYou see as a young child I watched my grandmother suffer horribly with this disease. I remember her back braces, her hunch back, her wheelchair, and yes even her pain. โ˜น๏ธ
.
.
SO as I began to age I knew I had to take better care of myself.๐Ÿ‘Œ โžก๏ธOsteoporosis does run in families. …but it doesn’t mean you will get it. So it is especially IMPORTANT to STRENGTHEN your bones through EXERCISE and a healthy DIET if you have this risk factor. But now….
.
.

๐Ÿšจ NOW there is NEW RESEARCH!! ๐Ÿšจ

When I started converting my family to being TOXIN FREE I learned about the toxin Tricolsan. New research is showing that there is a direct link between this toxin, other endocrine distributors, and Osteoporosis. ๐Ÿคฌ
Thank goodness these are no longer common in my home and products that we use daily !

Common Products Linked To Osteoporosis

๐ŸคทWe can’t control our destiny nor our genetics, but what we can control is what comes into to our home; and goes into and on our bodies.

๐Ÿ›’๐Ÿ›๏ธSo glad I found our shop club with over 400 toxin free products for my family.

๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒฟExercise, nutrition, and toxin free! My way of aging gracefully!!โค๏ธ

Sugar Is Toxic – My Journey

We all know that sugar is bad for us. Yes??
If you didn’t then maybe you have been hiding under a rock! Remember the Dentist telling you how sugar can hurt your teeth?
Sugar is toxic For our bodies, our teeth and our overall health!
ย Unfortunately sugar is in almost everything!!
This past month while on an extended vacation in Maine I realized so much about how Sugar affects me and my son especially since we have been 99% Sugar free now for three years. I figured I am on vacation why not enjoy.ย  There were birthday parties, dinners out, and of course staying in someone elses home. My control was a bit limited.

Iย  tried to be careful on what I ate but many times it was a challenge. The only thing that I introduced into my body that I had not had in a long time was food with Sugar.ย  It made me sick in ways that I have not felt in years. I was hurting my body, and yes even my sons. I should have been a stronger person but now thatย  I know how it affects us It will never happen again.ย

ย
It is now one of my top priorities and a passion of mine help spread the education of this toxin to others, my family, my friends; on the dangers of consumption of sugar.
I am by no means an expert but what I will be sharing with you on my experiences over the next few weeks will hopefully help you to think twice about the foods you are purchasing, and consuming.
I will be doing some videos and blogs in the coming weeks sharing my journey with and without sugar with you all when I return home.
Like body aches, mental fog, exhaustion, digestive issues just to name a few!!

I see so many people that I care about that are trying to live a healthier lifestyle, yet sugar is everywhere in their home, in their lives!

We all have heard the research, maybe even seen a few videos but if you are still consuming it then you are putting you and your family at risk!

I want to share with you some research and a documentary that I found while doing some research!!

Celebrating World Down syndrome Day our Journey!

Today around the world many are celebrating World Down syndrome day!!
It’s a chance to celebrate the families around the world that love and are touched by Down Syndrome in their lives!

I want to share today a little bit of our journey with Down syndrome!!

15 years ago I was found out my son was going to be born with Down syndrome! I was 26 weeks along in my pregnancy! A pregnancy that wan’t suppose to happen! I was in the middle of a divorce and when I found out he had Down syndrome I was also told he may not survive the next 24 hours. They asked me if I wanted to abort my son! It left in tears I was heart broken, I was devastated that they would even ask me that.

I knew very little about Trisomy 21 other wise known as Down syndrome!! I didn’t know what our future held for us, and I didn’t know how I was going to do it alone!! I just new that this was a gift from god and our adventures began!!

Today my son is 15 and every day I feel blessed to be his mom!!ย

He will make you laugh, he will bring the kid in you out! He has a huge heart and loves everyone!!
Is it easy?ย  Hell no it is not easy!
My son also has Autism! He is has very limited speech, he has moderate to severe hearing loss, and some other health issues!!ย  These don’t make is hard!ย  What makes it hard though are not his abilities or lack of it is the road blocks that society places in his way!!

Road blocks to quality medical without having to go thousands of miles, road blocks to go to school with peers that are typical, road blocks with day cares and after school programs so the parents can work outside the home, road blocks on a system that is not up to par!!

This is why we celebrate World Down syndrome Day!

It raises the awareness! It raises funding for further research! It brings people and communities together to celebrate these angels! Because honestly that is what they are! You will never meet anyone else so inocent as a person with Down syndrome! They don’t know hate! It is not in them to see the ugliness of the world! They only see the good!!

Every day as Christopher’s Mom I do everything I can to give him a life worth living! This is why I do what I do! Many of our families suffer either from health or poverty and there is no reason for it!!

So Why 21 March?

The date for WDSD being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.

These people, these children deserve to be respected and treated just like everyone else and unfortunately that is not the situation!! Because they learn and act a little different, maybe it is they don’t talk well or not at all; what ever it is there is still so much seclusion happening!! I see it every day with my son!!

He will walk in a room and light it up with his smile!! His laughter will be so hard it rattles the walls!! Small accomplishments bring great pride!!ย

He loves Music and movies! He loves to go camping!! He is a great swimmer and loves to be on the boat!!! He is just like you and me but with an extra special twist!ย
